Symbiotic.com claims to report on click frequency and payment levels for various keywords. The idea appears to be to help you make more money with Google Adsense.

Symbiotic.com claims to be an "Adsense Keywords Search Tool" that reports on click frequency and payment levels on various keywords. It looks as though it might be a helpful keyword tool to plan your website content for SEO (search engine optimization) to get optimum hits and Adsense payments.

The site gives you four methods of examining keywords. You can search for specific keywords and get a set of figures, or you can filter by one of three parameters to get a sorted list of keywords. Either should help with SEO.

Keyword Search

Enter a single keyword into the search field to get a set of data as shown. A search for "mesothelioma" for example gives the figures below. There is no indication of the date period for the high/low figures given in the data.

Data for Mesothelioma:

Cost/Click: High - $60.76 Low - $40.51

Clicks/Day: High - 238 Low - 185

Cost/Day High: $14279 Low - $7494

Browse by Cost per Click

If you sort by CPC, you will learn that the top-paying keywords included Loans Consolidation, Endowment Policy Sales, Personal Injury Lawyer, Auto Accident Attorney, Car Accident Lawyer, Mesothelioma (and anything to do with it!), Home Mortgage, Mortgage Renegotiation, and so forth. Each term has a positive (green) or negative (red) figure beside it, presumably to show the increase or decrease over the previous day (or month, or year - the site doesn't say).

You can use the Find function of your web browser to locate a particular keyword and check the header to find its value per click.

Browse by Clicks per Day

Which keywords, according to Symbiotic, get the most hits per day over some undetermined period? Their list includes such specifics as A, An, The, And. More useful, in the top 20 are Flights, Hotels, Cheap, Travel Deals, Jobs, Games, Insurance, School, Video, Vacations, Music, and Camera. No surprise that Sex, Porn, and Naked are right up there in the top group.

Again, you can use your browser's Find function to locate keywords, and the header to get an idea of its frequency.

Browse by Depth

Symbiotic defines Depth as Cost/Click X Clicks/Day (CPC X CPD). Browse by Depth works in much the same way as the previous two. However, if you click the colorful Symbiotic logo at the top of any page, or click Browse in the menu, you come to a drill-down of the top 1000 keywords. To find tea, for example, click the T, then Te in the submenu. Find your keyword in the list and click it to get the figures as shown above. Yes, just entering Tea in the search box is much easier, but this way you get to browse all the keywords starting with Te.

Browse by Keyword Sector

The home page lists a dozen Keyword Sectors, and clicking one brings up a list of keywords within the sector. You can click on any term in the list to get the data (Cost/Click, Clicks/Day, Cost/Day) for that term.

Usefulness of the Site

Targeted ads match whatever search term you enter or browse to. The site offers you a chance to partner up for a share of the revenues generated via your site.

Symbiotic claims to be "updated often". However on the date this article was published, the graph on the site was dated Oct 10, 2007. This date is not dynamic but is written in the HTML code for the page. This plus the lack of explanations and the vagueness of the time frames leaves the value of the data in some doubt. There are better tools available.
